Modern/Victorian sport/ riding corset 34.5"

 Sport/riding corset - for either Victorian or modern active lady!

This type of corset is essential in creating the curvy silhouette, typical of the Victorian era. It creates the small waist/rounded hip profile, and forms the basis for all kinds of Victorian attire across the social strata. All our bodices and riding habits are cut to fit the silhouette created by a corseted body.

This particular corset  is suitable for a more active lady - ideal for side saddle, cycling, walking or tennis. The body of the corset is much shorter, enabling the wearer to sit comfortably in a saddle, and the side panel is made out of high quality strong elastic ( used in medical corsetry), adding some stretch for extra comfort, allowing for a much greater freedom of movement. 

Riding corsets were used to create the silhouette and support the back for riding, not for tightlacing. There will be a few inches reduction in the waist, depending on your body type, but comfort and movability were of a higher importance.

 These are also great for a modern side saddle rider - to be used with either historical or modern riding habits for both back and bust support as well as a more pronounced waist and smoother silhouette

Please note,they are not not tight lacing corsets- they provide light support and shaping and will not withstand the tension of tightlacing. They should lace comfortably and easily- if you really struggle to lace yours, you should really get a size up!

Measurements - the corset closes at the following measurements, elastic allows for another 2" stretch!

bust - 45 - 47" (114-120cm)

Waist - 34.5" - 37" ( 87 - 94cm)

High hip - 45 - 47" (114-120cm)

Side length ( waist to armpit) - 6.5" (17cm)

Would best suit a  size 18 (natural  waist 39 - 41", bust 47-49", hip 47-49") 

All our corsets have the standard 2 inches waist reduction built in – the reduction will vary from person to person depending on the lady’s built and body type. Please measure carefully – your actual waist measurement should be at least 2 inches more than the measurement of the corset. The corset can be worn closed competely, or with a gap up to 2inches.

The corsets should not be worn on naked skin -  please wear them on a vest, chemisette or a blouse - or fitted tee shirt.
