Georgian era habit

 A rare occcasion to purchase a habit made for our latest book, The Equestrian Dressmaker!

 A Georgian habit based on an extant item from about 1760-70  suitable for  reenactment, living history, horseriding displays, shows, concurs d'elegance etc.

 Can be used as a riding or travelling outfit, with ot without the panniers ( though skirt will look best on the panniers/ pocket hoops)

  The habit was used for a photoshoot, there maybe some horse hair, and for a couple of hours at an event - the price  is reduced to reflect that.

  Features:

 * made  in a  light weight silk/linen blend, perfect for the warmer months!

 * made with machine for but with a lot of handstitching finish.

 * the jacklet is interlined thoughout, with additional canvas stiffening on the front, lined with silk taffeta/

* closes with buttons - decorative buttonholes  with metallic braid. Same features on the flaps of functional pockets.

 * the jacket has a small collar plus an aditional overcollar - this can be either  resting on the back or buttoned under chon. or can be detached completely. 

 It needs to be worn over georgian stays to fit properly.

*The skirt is not lined, and made to fit the the hoop pockets. Deep hem.

* The skirt closes with ties  -  tying  the back first and then the front, with the knocks going over the side to avoid bulk in front

 The hat, stays, chemise and other accessories not included

 There is just enough fabric left to  make a matching waistoat fronts - will be included

Measurements

 The skirt  waist is easily regulated with ties. lentgh - front  39" ( 99cm)

 The jacket closes at the chest 40" ( 102cm) and waist  31" (80cm), side length, armpit to waist, 8" (20cm)

The  habit would work best on a rider uk size 12-14, with stays Here worn  on size 12
