Victorian 1840s evening dress

 A rare occasion to aquire the dress from the Victorian Dressmaker volume 3 book!

 This is an interesting example of a silk evening dress dress, based on the a fashion plate

 It was used once, for for a ball-hence discounted price!

 Details:

 *  quality silk damask with the pattern  perfect for the era, bodice lined in cotton.

 *The bodice sports an interesting featurw with a pleated and gathered front

* short sleeves with a decorative macheron

* Inside finish -  machine, and hand - not the neatest as had to be able to undo things as requred for the shoot.

 *skirts and bodice decorated with a lot of velvet ribbon, and the dress features a velvet ribbon belt with an antique jet buckle

 *The  two tier skirts are pleated to a tape  and attached to the bodice.- easy to remove in case a remodel is needed.

* the main, long skirt is lined with stiff cotton organdy - very light, but provided a lot of volume!

 The bodice closes with hooks and eyes at ther back. The hooks can be moved too for a smaller fit.

 Chest pads can be added  as extra, please ask.

To achieve the typical silhouette several petticoats,including a corded one, and  corset  need to be worn. (most items can be purchased separately in the shop) 

 Sizing

 bodice  ( at the current hooks setting) closes at :

chest:36" (91cm)

 waist: 28"  ( 71cm).

 armpit to waist - 7.5" (19cm)

Skirts:  Front length ( waistband to hem) 41" (105cm)
