Victorian dress in silk

 A 1883-87s style Victorian dress with a day/afternoon bodice in silks.

 Details:

 * A fitted bodice in silk damasks from Sudbury  Silk Mills, and light silk taffeta, lined throughout with cotton.

Cloth covered buttons (shank plastic), boned with vintage boning.

 decorated with a vintage trim and cotton lace

Needs to be worn over a  well fitted historical corset and a bustle cage ( larger sizes, or paired with bustle improvers would look particularly good).

* The skirt - a bustle skirt in the same light taffeta, lined throughout, pocket on one side.

An apron overskirt in silk damask with a decorative antique trim, unlined. decorated at the back and front  with a silk bow with a buckle. The bow should be central - but it was windy on the day of the shoot and I forgot to pin it in place....

Undergarments are not inlculded.

 Hat and accessories not included

 To achieve the typical silhouette,  a bustle cage  plus a flounced petticoat  as well as a corset need to be worn. (all items can be purchased separately in the shop, subject to stock availibility.)

 Modern finish inside.

 Sizing

 bodice closes at :

 *chest:41" (104cm)

 *waist: 31"  (79cm).

 *back width across the shoulder blades - 16" (41cm), 

 The seams can be either taken in or let out to fine tune the fit

Skirts: skirt waistbands -  28" (71cm).",  Front length (waistband to hem) 39" (99cm). closing with  and hooks and bars, can be moved if needs be. either in or out. 

 Overskirt closes at 32" (81), again, easy to move  the bars, or tak in the waistband at the sides

 Bespoke gowns like this one start from £1000 labour plus fabric.

 The gown has been used for the shoot once.
